Wayfarer by Canton Cutler

An evolution from the Infantryman, the Wayfarer needed to be a stout blade with a slight drop point and a sweeping belly. 

The harpoon clip with a false edge to index your thumb perfectly. Jake will admit that he was at a creative block in the lead-up to this knife. he called his friend, James. He’s an architect, with a talent for lines, curves, and how things should flow and come together. 

The previous iterations just weren’t quite right. Together we came up with the Wayfarer, both with and without a guard. 

It needed to have all the utility of the Infantryman, without the military aesthetic. This is to go on the belt of someone who needs something substantially useful, with a more utilitarian feel. 

First with an aluminium guard, the second without, while staying true to form. Corby bolts fasten the micarta scales, not just epoxy, which means I give it its lifetime guarantee with confidence. 

Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel gives us the best knife steel option when we consider stain resistance, toughness, machinability and cost. Those hyper-expensive powder-metallurgy steels have drawbacks. Sweden’s Sandvik is just so good.
