Mantis Blackbeard: the auto-resetting trigger system for AR-15

Your dry fire practice just became infinitely more effective and engaging with the Mantis Blackbeard.  The auto-resetting trigger system allows the shooter to do dry fire practice with an AR-15 without having to rack the charging handle between shots.

This is not a trigger kit or trigger modification; this is a drop-in bolt carrier group & magazine that works with your existing trigger. This means it has the same weight, break and reset as live-firing. Using electromechanics, the Mantis Blackbeard allows you to take up to 10 dry-fire shots per second, quickly resetting the hammer between each shot.

Installation takes less than 30 seconds. Break open your AR, remove the bolt carrier group, drop in Blackbeard, close up, and put the magazine in to provide the power. Then dry fire away, counting how much money you're saving with every trigger break and reset that you hear.

We had a play and what we found out is:

• The Mantis Blackbeard comes in a padded protective case.
• With only two items, installation is easy and simple. Break open your AR, remove the bolt carrier group, drop in Blackbeard, close up, and put the magazine in to provide the power. You will then hear an installation noise.
• From here you need to install the app which is available on both IOS and Android (See below). There is a need for a phone tripod but leaning your phone up against something also works.
• Make sure the camera can see the target (free download here) and the QR codes on each corner. The phone should be roughly 2 yards away from the target. The app allows anything from multiple drills and courses to simple target practice to two-player matches.
• When your phone is set up you can shoot at the target from any angle behind the phone or distances within reason as the laser has to be registered on the target by the camera (the darker the room the better the results). With decent sound effects and your shots being registered the Mantis Blackbeared is a great accessory to your collection.
• When you are finished you can either remove the magazine to preserve battery life or remove everything and put the charging handle and bolt back in. It is quick and easy to install and use and is perfect for a wide range of practices.
