The CMMG M4F22 Rifle by Falcon Design is assembled around CMMG’s dedicated .22 LR system rather than dressed up to resemble an AR. Billet and forged aluminium receivers, a stainless EBF barrel, slim CMMG EML handguard and premium TriggerTech fire-control group give it the handling, controls and modularity expected from a serious AR-pattern rifle.
At this price point, we think it is the benchmark complete .22 LR AR build: the value is in the component list, with genuinely useful ambidextrous controls, a crisp 3.5 lb trigger and proven Magpul furniture included from the start.

Assembled size and weight
The adjustable stock provides 3.3″ of travel. Figures below are practical assembled estimates with the stock fully collapsed and fully extended, unloaded with the supplied empty magazine, before sights, optic or other accessories.

Dimensions and weights are research-based assembled estimates from published component specifications and comparable Mk4-pattern builds. Small production and measuring variations are normal. The transport case is not included in rifle weight.
The core build
Receivers and finish
The CMMG Mk4 upper is billet 6061-T6 aluminium with a ZEROED polymer dust cover and enlarged ejection port. It pairs with a forged 7075-T6 Mk4 lower. Upper, lower and handguard are matched in your choice of Armor Black or Tungsten Cerakote.
Dedicated rimfire action
A stainless EBF AR15-pattern .22 LR barrel is matched to the CMMG dedicated .22 LR bolt group. This is a purpose-built blowback system with the correct rimfire chamber and bolt geometry, delivering authentic AR controls without relying on a centre-fire chamber adaptor.
Slim free-float front end
The 12″ rifle uses an 11″ EML11; the 16″ uses a 15″ EML15. Both are aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminium with a 1.3″ internal / 1.5″ external diameter, M-LOK slots at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, and a Picatinny/M-LOK hybrid top rail. Barrel nut, retention key and fixings are part of the CMMG handguard kit.
TriggerTech Duty fire control
The fitted TriggerTech Duty AR15 is the curved, fixed 3.5 lb single-stage version. Its cassette design provides a zero-creep break, 0.060″ overtravel and a short, positive 0.070″ reset, with full hammer-strike force and standard 0.154″ pin compatibility.
Controls that work from either shoulder
- CMMG ZEROED ambidextrous safety, configurable for a short 60° or conventional 90° throw.
- CMMG ambidextrous magazine catch with standard right-side button and left-side paddle.
- CMMG ZEROED .22 LR ambidextrous charging handle with a filled, reinforced channel designed to prevent spent rimfire cases entering a standard AR charging-handle channel.
- CATCH22 V1 bolt catch for familiar manual bolt-hold-open function. The supplied CMMG magazine follower does not automatically actuate this catch; engage it manually after removing the magazine.

- Magpul MOE Carbine Stock: 10.3–13.6″ length of pull, 3.3″ adjustment range, 8.4 oz, shielded release latch and removable 0.30″ rubber butt-pad.
- CMMG six-position mil-spec receiver extension kit with aluminium buffer tube, end plate, castle nut, spring and buffer.
- Magpul MOE AR15/M4 grip: 25° angle, 4.0″ height, 1.2″ maximum width and 2.8 oz with hardware; textured reinforced polymer with internal storage-core capability.

Which version?
Choose the 12″ for the shortest, quickest-handling configuration and the compact EML11 front end. Choose the 16″ for a longer sighting plane, more support-hand and accessory space, and the full-length EML15 profile. Armor Black is understated and traditional; Tungsten gives the same component specification with a more distinctive contrast against the black furniture and controls.
Whichever version you choose, the important parts remain the same: a dedicated CMMG rimfire action, premium TriggerTech trigger, fully considered ambidextrous controls and familiar, replaceable AR-pattern furniture. It is a complete rifle that does not need a list of immediate upgrades to feel finished.
