Chobham Ridge - 1st March 2024

On Friday 1st March, Blue Rifle & Pistol Club privately booked Chobham Ridge range at Bisley for a whole-day club shoot. With four firing points overlooking steel plates from 70 to 1200 yards, a plethora of club guns and a fully-booked attendance, it promised to be an awesome day.

And boy did it deliver.

For us, the highlight wasn't the blown-out tank husks strewn across the range, nor was it the spectacular views all the way to the London Skyline and Guildford Cathedral, or the variety of plate sizes, shapes and distances. It was the camaraderie, the friendship, the support of one another, the satisfying 'ding' and subsequent grin when hitting plates with their old .22, or when a person hits the 1200 yard plate with their new Cadex, or when a 114 year-old military rifle smacks a far-away plate with iron sights.

For us, it was the people; a pure reminder of how enjoyable shooting is and supportive the community is, and why we love both.

We will be putting on many more of these days at Chobham Ridge, especially throughout the summer. We have plans for full hospitality as well as the usual mobile gun shop.  So, keep an eye out for the email notification or keep checking the Events page for the next one. Make sure you book early to secure your spot as they sell out fast!

As always, we'll see you on the range soon!
